About
AMANDA GLENN
Shop Owner & Trainer
Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, our shop owner Amanda has always had a love for horses!
She grew up riding at Reaching Strides Equestrian Center under the instruction of Nadine Bollig at the age of 12, and quickly realized that horses were her calling. By 14, Amanda began showing in the hunters and by 16 completed her instructor certification as well as her English Equine Canada Level 7. As a young adult, travelling to Alberta allowed her to branch out into ranch riding, developing her western riding skills and casually showing with the Alberta Paint Horse Club.
Amanda decided to continue with her passion for hunters and jumpers in a new way by opening Prairie Rose to help the “mid- range” rider and horse owner by providing a judgement free place to ask any questions about the sport and to provide higher end, long lasting tack at an affordable price. The inspiration for her logos come from her show mare, Tiramisu and her 2 dalmatians Lexie and Sloan.
In addition to running her shop and being active in the hunter/derby circuits, Amanda also continues to train and develop client horses in a wide variety of disciplines. She is currently working with her stallion prospect Quincy, to develop him into a talented young performance horse. As she continues her equine education with several different horsemanship trainers she’s become a stronger believer in training horses to be confident in themselves, creating trusting, safe and willing partners.
From colts to seasoned jumpers Amanda's knowledge and expertise will have you and your horse performing at their optimum.
